Oh but I think I can. Because deep down in that blackened mess you call a heart, you know I am right. and you know that you feel something for that thief and his son. Don't try to deny it

[ she scoffs, eyes rolling at the audacity the cloaked figure had. she was a mess, they got that much right. but they were wrong when it came to her feelings and she wouldn’t hesitate to deny any accusation stating that she actually felt for robin. he was nothing more than a theif and a father. he was not her next love, he was not her happy ending. the only happy ending for her was being with henry again.

                   but that wasn’t possible.

she was trapped there in the enchanted forest and he didn’t even remember her name — let alone the ten years she spent raising him. that’s because her place had been taken by emma. she was the one he knew and loved unconditionally. she was his mother. his only mother. to him, she nursed him and held him while he cried. not regina, but emma. and what was regina to her son?

nothing but a fairy tale. probably not even that.

but it was her price to pay for casting the curse in the first place. she should regret it now that it has come down to all of this… because even the time she spent with henry was better than not knowing him at all. and if she could, she’d do it again. just to see his face one more time, to hear his laugh, to feel his arms wrap around her.

to think that this cloaked being believed that she could ever replace him made her want to laugh. a mother could not replace their child. if she were to ever become a secondary mother to roland, metaphorically speaking of course, he wouldn’t be her’s. not truly, not ever.

thinking over it all now, she can’t see the point in trying to love again — especially robin and roland. they’d only get taken from her in the end. they always did. she’ll just stick to missing henry. he’s the only one she needs. well, that’s what she likes to tell herself. ]
